As part of the implementation of the year-round online business program of the International Economic Summit “Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit” on June 8 the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency launched the series of online interviews with Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic World in Russia and business representatives on the topic: “The impact of coronavirus infection Covid-19 on the economies of the OIC countries (G-to-B).” In honor of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Indonesia the first interview was held with Mr. Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Russia.
The next online interview will take place on July 10 at 11:00 a.m. with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to the Russian Federation Mr. Tarak Ben Salem. The event will be held with the participation of business representatives.
“In the past few years, business relations between Russian Federation and Tunisian Republic have been developing rapidly. Over the past 5 years three political consultations have been held in Moscow with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tunisia, Khmais Jinawi and one with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov in Tunisia. Tatarstan attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Tunisia. Together with the Russian embassy an exhibition-presentation of the region in Tunisia was organized. In October 2018 our delegation led by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to Tunisia together with Tunisian Prime Minister Yousef Shahed and Tunisian Trade Minister Omar Bekhi, the sides discussed trade, economic and cultural cooperation, held a business forum, and signed an agreement on cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Tunis Republic. We have enormous potential for strengthening Tatarstan-Tunisian cooperation in such areas as oil refining, energy, engineering, automotive, IT, Islamic finance and the halal industry,” commented Taliya Minullina head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.
During the webinar the parties will discuss the economic development of countries against the backdrop of Covid-19 coronavirus infection, measures taken to support business in the current environment, the most popular specialties and much more.
