Talia Minullina: Trading is the first step to investing!


Within the framework of the annual business program of the International economic summit "Russia-Islamic world: KazanSummit" the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency continues the series of online interviews with the Ambassadors of the OIC countries to Russia and business representatives on the topic: "Impact of Covid-19 coronavirus infection on the economy of the OIC countries (G-to-B)".

On July 10 the interview was held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tunisia to Russia Mr. Tarak Ben Salem, representative of the Tunisian National tourism Office in Moscow, Neji Guider, head of the Tunisian holding in Russia and businessman Hassen Trigi.

Taliya Minullina highlighted the importance of developing business relations between countries and regions.
" Tatarstan as a very active region is happy to take part in strengthening relations between Russia and Tunisia and makes a maximum contribution to interregional cooperation. The largest event for economic development is the international economic summit "Russia-Islamic world: KazanSummit" where we actively interact with the OIC countries. This year because of the coronavirus pandemic we have reorganized this work and now focusing on online events, discussions and analytical work to identify current issues and share experiences. The next offline summit will be held in the spring of 2021 and we invite the Tunisian delegation with representatives of the business community to take an active part in it," Taliya Minullina said in her welcoming speech.

The head of the Agency spoke in detail about the investment attractiveness of Tatarstan, emphasizing that Tatarstan is open for cooperation and Tatarstan investors are socially responsible and continue to help Tatarstan citizens in such a difficult time for all of us.

During the interview the parties discussed the economic development of countries against the background of Covid-19 infection, measures taken to support businesses in the current conditions, the newest specialties, digitalization of economic spheres and much more.

The Ambassador thanked the Agency for organizing the webinar and inviting him to participate in the discussion.

"We see that we have many opportunities to work together and believe that our relations with the Republic of Tatarstan remain one of the best. Our cooperation with Tatarstan reached a high level after the visit of President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov to Tunisia in 2018. I hope that in the future we will build even closer relations, especially in organizing the next Summit, " Tarak Ben Salem said.

Hassen Trigi, Head of the Tunisian holding in Russia proposes to develop Russian-Tunisian business relations by creating a Trading house.

"Undoubtedly, the experience we have gained in working with Russia has given us a good basis for cooperation between our countries. This is a great honor for us. Last year I visited the Republic of Tatarstan and noticed how well-developed the investment climate and infrastructure are here. Thank You for this unique opportunity which pushed us to create the Trading house of Tunisia in the Republic of Tatarstan, " commented businessman Hassen Trigi.

The parties also drew attention to the development of the tourism sector.
"Every year we see more and more positive dynamics in the development of tourism between Russia and Tunisia. Our state has been investing into the Russian tourist market since 1995, promoting tourism for all regions of Russia. Today, Tunisia is among the leaders in tourism destinations among Russia and Russian regions, " said Nezhi Guider, a representative of the Tunisian National tourism Office in Moscow.

It is gratifying that today the countries are not only exchanging experience in the strategic approach to combat the economic consequences of COVID-19 but also reaching a new level of business relations.
