On the meeting of the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov with the King of Saudi Arabia
The Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and African Countries, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Bogdanov Mikhail Leonidovich met with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud in Riyadh. His Highness the Crown Prince, First Deputy Prime Minister and held a comprehensive exchange of views with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adel Al-Jubeir.
During the talks, a special attention was given to the implementation of the multi-faceted agreements reached on the outcome of the summit held on 4 to 8 October 2017.
It is worth to mention that at the time of the government visit to the Russian Federation by the King of Saudi Arabia Salman Al-Saud, it was noted that success in promoting joint work in this area, including the active participation of the mechanism of the Russian-Saudi governmental committee, The mutual work between Moscow and Riyadh was emphasized to further deepen the credible political dialogue on key aspects of the global and regional agenda.
The two sides also expressed their common desire to promote mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of trade, economy and energy, including cooperation in the form of (OPEC+) on the stability of the world oil and gas market, as well as investment, industrial, agricultural, cultural, humanitarian and other promising fields.
The "clock was set" on Middle East issues, focusing on the situation in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, the Arabian Gulf and the Palestinian territories. In this context, the continued commitment of Russia and Saudi Arabia to the principles of international law and respect for independence and territorial integrity have been affirmed to ensure a speedy and peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and North Africa through a comprehensive national dialogue while simultaneously a decisive battle against terrorism in all its manifestations.
Emphasis is also placed on the need to consolidate efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in the region and to promote dialogue between religions and civilizations.
