The Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia Khalid A. Al-Falih has decided to attend the launch of the Yamal LNG plant scheduled for December 8, Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Wednesday.

"Yes, he has confirmed [plans to attend - TASS]," he said.
The Saudi minister received an invitation to attend the Yamal LNG opening ceremony last week at a meeting with Novak following the OPEC+ talks in Vienna.

The shareholders of Yamal LNG are: Novatek (50.1%), Total (20%), CNPC (20%), and the Silk Road Fund (9.9%). Yamal LNG will become Novatek’s first LNG plant. The project is being implemented on the Yamal peninsula in Russia Arctic region. It envisions the launch of three LNG trains, each with the capacity of 5.5 mln tonnes a year. As of now the first train has been launched. The second and the third one will be put into operation in 2018-2019.
